Phil and Frank are best-friends as well as reporters for the hit news station: The 9PM News! One day, Phil snaps, and shoots Frank in the face, then proceeding to kill himself. However, Frank rises up, unscathed, proclaiming that he has a "bulletproof face". Little does he know, that it wasn't the "real" Phil who attacked him, but a CLONE!!! The real Phil realizes this, while watching the news from his home. 


On Pluto, a plutonian alerts his superior of the incident, leading them to send an invasion force to destroy the Earth! As the fleet prepares it's attack, Frank reveals himself to be a robot, and flies into the armada, destroying it. A year later, the real Phil hosts the show alone, as Frank drifts unconscious through space. A lone ship opens a vortex in space, sucking Frank's body in. 


The vortex is revealed to be a passageway through time, leading to the Jurassic era! As the 9PM news crew travels into space to report on the mysterious portal, they are attacked by a group of malevolent dinosaurs! The dinosaurs make their way to Earth, where their contact with the 21st Century air gives them fire-breath! Frank dons a new outfit (and a sword), venturing off to save his planet! 


As the Earth is ravaged by the Dinosaurs, Phil decides to suit up and fight against the invaders. Frank arrives to help, killing multiple monsters. Just as he is about to be blasted, Frank is pushed by Phil, who is hit instead. Frank buries his friend, while he grieves. In Washington DC, the US Military decides to take the nuclear option, launching a missile, which destroys the Earth in the process. 


The author shows his creation, News Dudes, to his friend, who remarks that the ending is "kinda lame".

News Dudes Vol 4 Written & drawn by FM  Previously on News Dudes... Phil and Frank have been executed by the Plutonian General, who has just finished obliterating the Earth. However, Phil awakens, as his wound was not fatal, and escapes from the Plutonian ship.  He crash lands on Mars, where he meets a mysterious scientist named Albert, who bears a striking resemblance to Frank. He claims that he built Frank, but the two are suddenly attacked by Martian Raiders! Phil dispatches the Raiders, but is shot in the eye in the process. As he heals Phil, experience a myriad of strange dreams, all featuring a mysterious god-like figure. Phil awakens and he resolves to get his revenge on the Plutonian General with the help of Albert. Meanwhile, the god-like figure in Phil's dreams watches from another dimension. Inside his temple, the Citadel, he experiences a vision; a vision of Phil drifting in space.
